Urban tenancy: basic contract rules

Indicative points of the General Urban Tenancy Regime (FACT, to confirm in the Official Gazette): • The contract must be made in writing and, per the sources, drawn up in three copies. • Absent a stipulated term, a default duration of 6 months applies. • Advance payment of rent is permitted. • For residential lets, limited-term contracts of not less than 3 years are possible. • Termination may occur by agreement, resolution, lapse or notice, under the law.
